This course is aimed at new e¹ administrators.…
e1 has allowed us as a school to store assessment information centrally and moved the recording of these grades from pieces of paper in the staff room that were completed by hand.
Staff now have the freedom to complete them in their own teaching rooms or if they prefer, they can complete them at home. This is the first step on our road towards online reporting.

Education has never been more pupil focused than today, particularly with technology providing so many opportunities to engage and teach students. Now teachers can create individual learning plans for pupils that can take into account how the student learns and importantly what they are most interested in.
Using the e¹ provisioning functionality teachers are able to create individual learning plans and attach activities or provisions at specified intervals into a calendar style schedule. Once created, activities or provisions can be easily altered within the schedule either using a drag and drop approach or by changing the details of the activity itself.
This style of scheduling activities offers greater flexibility than the traditional school timetable but does not replace it. Instead the flexible schedule provides users with the ability to enhance student learning. For example, pupils who are interested in music may be offered additional tuition over and above the school timetable by creating an activity within the provisioning module. Provisioning can also be used to assist pupils that are falling behind.
Examples of where provisioning could be used include:
From a school management perspective, the business of providing additional tuition has a cost; extra teaching staff, equipment perhaps the lessons need to take place elsewhere and therefore hiring additional facilities may be required. These costs need to be managed carefully to ensure that budgets are accurately monitored. Therefore every activity or provision can include details such as cost which can be reported upon and budgeted for.
